SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA: Lyndie Benson, Kenny G's ex-wife, has filed an urgent court petition requesting the sale of their luxurious Malibu property, which is now occupied by none other than Jeff Bezos and his fiancee Lauren Sanchez. Benson claims that Kenny G's activities have directly breached the terms of their 2013 divorce settlement.
She alleges that he purposefully disguised his choice to lease the home for an astounding $600,000 per month, a move she believes was intended to deprive her of her fair portion, RadarOnline reported. The Malibu mansion, a reminder of their shared past, was originally made up of two homes that were combined after their marriage to form a single estate.
'Kenny concealed from Lyndie that he had vacated the home'
"Worse, until recently, Kenny concealed from Lyndie that he had vacated the home and leased it for $600,000 per month, all in an effort to deprive Lyndie of her rightful share of the value of" the home sale, stated the court documents, cited by the media outlet.
The distribution of this substantial asset proved to be a major source of conflict during their divorce procedures, as they disagreed on the existence and legitimacy of a prenuptial agreement, as well as the worth of the property at the time of their separation. "The 'disposition of the' home was a 'major sticking point in settling the divorce,'" revealed the court documents, highlighting the intense disagreement surrounding the mansion's fate.
Despite their disagreements, they resolved not to sell the house right away, hoping that its worth would increase with time. Their choice was also impacted by the fact that their children remained in the area. Benson, on the other hand, says that Kenny G has broken their agreement by claiming that he is under no obligation to sell the property and so depriving her fair portion. Expressing her frustration, Benson emphasized she relied on Keny’s promise in the settlement. Instead, he lived rent-free in the pad for years and recently entered into a long-term rental agreement with Jeff Bezos.
The settlement deal promises 25 percent of revenue from all sale
In light of these events, Benson is requesting that Kenny G hand over any rental earnings generated by the Bezos deal and that the property be put for sale immediately. It is also because according to the deal, Lyndie was to get 25% of the revenues from the sale of the mansion that exceeded $40 million. She stated that the house is currently worth more than $40 million as per the report.
